    Well that's buggered then!

At what distance are you trying to align the lenses? I would be aligning them based on infinity, if you're not already trying this. From your post and that previous link you pasted above, it sounds like you might be trying to align these using minimum focus distance, which wouldn't be my...

    Well that's buggered then!

Do you have a spare focusing screen? Maybe put that on the back of the camera where the film would normally sit (so you are seeing what would hit the film) and then adjust the camera's lenses so that they are focused for infinity properly? This should hopefully mean that the other distances are...

    Pentacon 6

A risky purchase given the camera's reputation for unreliability. If you are interested in a medium format SLR that operates like a monster 135-format camera, I would be looking at a Pentax 6x7 instead. If you want a waist level finder with 6x6 format (Pentax 6x7 does offer WLF, but 6x7), then...

Kodak and llford info on film and new Airport CT scanners January 2020

I have done all of this. I have also shipped my film to the lab from a variety of places (e.g., Japan, South Korea, Spain, USA, etc.) before going home. But I can't always do these things. Sometimes you have film left over. Sometimes you can't buy it ahead of time. Sometimes you've paid and...

Kodak and llford info on film and new Airport CT scanners January 2020

I haven't inspected the negatives myself, but lab said subtle x-ray waveform and base fog.

Kodak and llford info on film and new Airport CT scanners January 2020

I have kept some film in my pockets when going through the metal detectors so that they're not scanned, but it's not unusual that I might have 25–50 rolls of film on longer trips, so this wouldn't be feasible in such cases.

Kodak and llford info on film and new Airport CT scanners January 2020

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way about the damage from the new CT scanners a little over a year ago. This is potentially a very big issue for anyone who wants to shoot film while travelling.

Mixed results on my first attempt with my Bronica ETRSI

These paler ones look like it could be extreme overexposure. Colour negative can handle a lot of exposure, but it has its limits. Here's one below that I seriously overdid the exposure on and it too turned pale and had weird patterns/marks. UK Film Lab scanned the image and they commented that...

Show us yer film shots then!

These photos sat undeveloped in my Holga 120GTLR for ages (it took a long time to finish roll) and even travelled back from South Korea via checked luggage, which is supposedly a big no-no with film. They are from Christmas day 2017 in Seoul.

Minolta Autocord CLA in the UK/EU

Miles fixed my Autocord back in 2013 as well. I can't recall the exact details now, but it was an issue with the focusing lever mechanism. I've sent him a good few cameras over the last several years (e.g., Bronica SQ-A body, Bronica PS 80mm f/2.8 lens, Rollop TLR, Hasselblad 60mm f/3.5 lens...

ELi5: Under Expose And Over Develop

Pushing refers strictly to overdevelopment; your exposure (i.e., under exposure, over exposure, or "correct" exposure) does not technically impact your (in)capability to push in any way. For instance, I can overexpose all of my exposures and still push the film. That said, the practice of...

    Amazon £5 off today

Unfortunately, Amazon are at least £5 more expensive for most of the films that I buy... I might get a box of Fuji 400H though, as a £5 discount puts it at the same price as 7dayshop, but with Prime delivery, so it will arrive in time for our holiday this week.

Altering DX codes then push/pull does it work ?

Okay, so you're looking to alter the DX code in order to manipulate the camera's aperture and then you're looking to push to compensate for underexposing your ISO 200 film? I've experimented with pushing a number of films and it can work, but I find it's ordinarily better just to get the...

Altering DX codes then push/pull does it work ?

I'm not entirely sure that I'm understanding you. Pushing and pulling refer to adjustments in development, not exposure. You don't need to alter DX codes if you only intend to push or pull the film in development. If you want to over or under expose the film when taking the photos, however...

JCH Street Pan - anyone here used it?

I doubt you would even notice the differences with the bright sunshine at EI 200; most negative films handle highlights very well (unless this film is similar to Rollei Retro 400s, which is one of the few that doesn't). Alternatively, just shoot the film at EI 400 in the sun and at EI 200 in...

Review Where to purchase a Pentax 67 in the UK (February 2019)

Well, surely they made the 6x7 MLU up to the time they released the 67, so you could in theory purchase a late 6x7 MLU that's similar in age to the first 67 bodies. I got to handle both the 6x7 and 67 in the shop in Seoul before I purchased (as well as a 67II) and there's not much between them...

Review Where to purchase a Pentax 67 in the UK (February 2019)

Are you willing to purchase from an EU-based shop? Photohaus in Germany have Pentax 6x7 with a 105mm for the equivalent of £695: https://www.photohaus.de/shop/pentax-6x7-ttl-24-105mm/ Great cameras. I bought a beaten up 6x7 MLU (with great-condition SMC 105mm f/2.4) last year in South Korea and...

    35mm enlarger

It could just be my technique, but I don't find my darkroom printed photographs to have any more resolution than prints from digital scans. In fact, I would say my optically printed photographs are not as sharp. That all said, photography is about a whole lot more than resolution and an...

Thoughts on the new Ffordes site?

What are you viewing the site on? I've just checked my MacBook and my iPhone and I can see 17 lenses showing for Mamiya 7.

Thoughts on the new Ffordes site?

The three bars is effectively an internet standard for mobile sites for indicating a website’s menu. In fact, I’m on TP forum right now on my phone and it has the three bars at the top left to direct users to the TP menu.

Thoughts on the new Ffordes site?

For the most part, the site is pretty similar, but I can now see product photos without having to click on the items, which is a bonus. My biggest gripe rests with the price bumps with the new site. For instance, this Pentax 6x7 300mm F4 was £155,300 cheaper last week.

    Medium format or just 35mm?

135 format only offers the 3:2 aspect ratio, which is completely inflexible and a deal breaker for me.

    Medium format or just 35mm?

120 > 135 Plaubel Makina 67, Fuji GF670, Mamiya 6, and/or Lomo LC-A 120 for compact or lightweight 120. I also own a Rolleiflex 2.8E, but no longer travel with it since purchasing the Makina, which has much smaller footprint, is much faster to operate, and is much easier to load.
