    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 & Mark 2 Owners Thread

Congrats Toby, if only I'd known we were allowed to photoshop our submissions I might have done the same. :D Thing is, I don't think this is your best image, I like the one of JP hitching a ride with Collard, I thought that was more "on theme". :D

^ yep, the EM1 Mk2 would do the trick, I use it for "real" cars rather than radio controlled but it's perfect for the job!

Absolutely, I have the 2 x f/2.8 zooms and the 2 x TC's, and they all go in a relatively small and light shoulder bag, but I still have (FF eq) 24 - 600mm covered.

It does, and if you absolutely must have the reach the PL 100-400 does the trick, I just don't need it, so it's an easy choice for me, I don't use the 40-150 + TC combo because it's better per se, I use it because it suits what I do.

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 & Mark 2 Owners Thread

@the black fox not that I could tell, the 40-150mm f/2.8 is lightning fast, and fitting a TC to it seems to make no difference in that regard, but then I'm shooting cars and bikes, they're not so twitchy!! I don't want to sound too disparaging of the Panasonic 100-400mm, I didn't have it for...

I've only really used it in anger at Snetterton, and when you're shooting far away cars / bikes at race circuits then atmospherics tend to play a role, but they would even with a longer lens and no TC I guess? For the short time I had the Panasonic 100-400mm, and used it at Snetterton (and...

I have a few shots on Flickr with the 40-150mm f/2.8 + MC20 -> https://flic.kr/s/aHsmHfwQpm Not sure how representative they are, they're just some photos I took that I wanted to share, as opposed to demonstrate the MC20 specifically. Whilst I'd say it's true the lens isn't as sharp with TC...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 & Mark 2 Owners Thread

Here some photos taken by my rain-soaked EM1.2 at Aldershot yesterday. The amount of spray was a challenge early on:- The 40-150mm f/2.8 still did a good job resolving detail from one end of the track to the other:- I do like to try reflections in puddles when there's so much water...

Realised I haven't posted anything around here lately, so here's some snaps from September .... This is the MSC Gulsun, apparently the largest container ship in the world, docked at Felixstowe, which is close to me, but taken from Shotley peninsula which is the other side of the river. Don't...

    Lightroom classic or Lightroom?

Been wrestling with this question myself lately. Only been doing photography for the last couple of years and never used Lightroom Classic so went straight for the new "cloud" version. Nice simple interface and I like that it uploads my photos to the cloud straight away, although I've set...

    Donington - advice needed

Looks like I'm going to Donington on Sunday, a friend competes in a club bike competition, but I've never been and I hear it's not the greatest for photography with lots of safety fencing everywhere. As a Donington newbie, and bearing in mind what the circuit's like now, any advice anyone can...

Had a great day out at Snetterton on Saturday at an Olympus photo day, hosted by Power Maxed Racing, a BTCC team sponsored by Olympus. Hospitality was first class, cooked breakfast and dinner, and some Olympus kit to play with in-between being fed and watered! Here are a few images, haven't...

    Beginner High ISO noise

A trick I learned when trying to reduce noise in high ISO photos, in Lightroom apply some sharpening, then slide the "masking" slider over to a high value, like 90+, then apply noise reduction. This can give you a sharper less noisy image, although you may have to play with these 3 sliders to...

Top one is Nelsons, somewhere to the right of the grandstand and the raised viewing area, you can stand all along that fence and shoot over as it's only waist high, but I like the lowered position to the left of the raised viewing area. The other 3 are the raised viewing area in-between the...

Used the new Olympus MC2.0 teleconverter for the first time at the weekend, on my 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO lens with the EM1 Mk2. Had a busy weekend, first to Birmingham Wheels on Saturday for some short oval track action :- Then to Snetterton on Sunday for the No Limits club bike racing :-...

Best way to 'hide' catch fencing?

LOL, OK, haven't been out that far, and only been a few times, mostly stuck to the Mountain, Hall Bends, Hairpin, Coppice. Did take a drive out to Chris Curve and Gooseneck last time I was there, which are fine, didn't go round to the other side. So, you should definately check out Cadwell Park...

Best way to 'hide' catch fencing?

You should definately take a trip to Cadwell sometime, no catch fencing anywhere and lots of places to get good views, and some very, very close to the track. It's 3 hours for me so haven't been often, but it's always been worthwhile.

    Donington no longer photographer friendly.

Sad to read this, only ever been to Snetterton and Cadwell Park (both MSV, neither has any catch fencing at all), but next year my step-son is planning to move up from short ovals to circuit racing with the National Legends http://www.legendsracingeurope.com/ and they do Brands (x3), Donnington...

Had my first proper go with the new Olympus 2.0x TC + 40-150mm f/2.8 this weekend, first indications are it's fantastic, image quality wise I don't see much difference, if any, compared to the 1.4x TC or even the bare lens. The only downside is that 2 stops loss of light, I basically had to take...

    Canon PIXMA PRO Printers

I have a Canon Pixma IP8750, because I couldn't afford any of the Pro range, and I think it's bloody brilliant! Of course I've never had anything else to compare it to, but using Canon inks on Canon glossy paper my A3 prints are as good as I could imagine ever wanting them to be!

Best way to 'hide' catch fencing?

Fencing is the bane of my life, I shoot short oval motorsport, and it's all through the catch fence, and at most tracks I attend there's a secondary barrier keeping spectators away from it as well. Slow shutter panning often doesn't help as you still see the horizontal. In my own totally...

    Silverstone Blancpain and British GT

Great set, love all of them, I'm also a try-er but mostly fail-er at the slow shutter speed shots, so I love it when they work, which these do in spades, and the colours and processing is spot on as well.
