Some more merges from single burst shots.

Hi Dave and thanks. I'm using the sony rx10m4 which has a small sensor so light is a must or a trade off for a high iso. Also using ss at 1/4000 with no flash so brighter the better.

    Solitary bee. Osmia caerulescens female.

Unfortunately they never fly in a straight line so keeping them all in focus is difficult. I just try and keep the best to include but could have left those two out although i think it gives the impression of depth, perhaps. Anyway thanks, something to bear in mind :)

    Solitary bee. Osmia caerulescens female.

Its a single burst shot and each image is merged in photoshop but sometimes i have to move them a bit or leave one out so they dont overlap, but pretty much how they are flying. It takes a while to do the editing as its not automated. :)

Grey Heron with a water vole

It wasnt going anywhere which seemed strange but it was determined to get a meal. We thought it might be injured but it was just waiting.

Grey Heron with a water vole

Saw this grey heron catch and struggle to swallow a water vole because it got a stick caught up in it's beak. Well after a few minutes the vole went down and the heron went on it's way. Not sure who had the biggest lump in their throat, the heron or me ....

    A couple of merged sequences

Thanks, i'd been practising on insects in flight and thought it would be interesting and educational to merge them into one to see the different wing shapes during flight. :)

Thanks Nck, inspired by your wasp pics flying. :)

    A couple of merged sequences

Thanks, well erm, you take one shot of the insect stationary followed by a burst of shots as it takes off. In photoshop layer all the pics add a layer mask and erase over where the one underneath is and do this until all pics are done. Basically cut n paste. Lots easier on a plain background...

    Wasps in flight

Still undecided and the sensor size is not a problem for me as my images are only for the web, i like the post focus and burst modes on the FZ as i'm trying to shoot insects in flight, i'm sure their are more options from other makes but for the price this one seems like a winner.. still reading...

    Wasps in flight

No not a joke, i just got back from 2 weeks photography in Spain lugging a ton of equipment around with me. I have been considering something like the FZ 330 as an all rounder i can carry without all accessories.. I aint getting any younger :)
