Ahh! I did contact Sigma directly and explained the problem but the guy said there's no reason for it not to work and for me to contact my dealer instead. At least if it happens again I'd have some idea now :)
I recently purchased the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens for my Nikon D5000 from Amazon UK.
As soon as I got it out of the box, I took it into the garden to test it out. I quickly discovered that the focussing seemed to be awry. Although pictures appeared to be in focus through the...
Still going :)

So, a week in and it's going well :)
I'm really aiming to improve my photography this year so i'm shooting everything in full manual mode and loving it!
Here's today's offering which was taken during daylight and not literally just now as it might appear, hehe

After my first 365 challenge attempt lead to the incredibly frustrating result of 364 photos (I realised I'd missed a day about half an hour into the next day :gag:) I've decided to try again and i'm determined to complete it this time!
I'm posting on Tumblr because I don't want to clog up my...
Yup, me too!
I did more of an acedemic one which ended on the 1st Sept 2011 and I managed... 364 photos in 365 days! GUTTED
Been itching to start again since, so here goes :)

Day 1 was taken with my new waterproof Fujifilm XP20 in the...
So number 3 is perfectly fine even though there's only half a horse, and yet number 5 is bin-friendly because there are no ears... I'm sorry, I honestly would rather have #5 printed and framed on my wall  Haha, each to their own I guess - I suppose composition can be incredibly subjective...
#5 is definitely my favourite :)
The effect in #1 is interesting - selective HDR - it works, although personally I'd make the HDR on the horses a little less intense, it looks a bit like you photoshopped them in, hehe :)
I agree about the backgrounds - I'm sure from another angle you might have got less 'clutter'?
By early he means the horses back feet are still on the ground - a little later and the whole horse would have been suspended with more of a shape over the jump.
They're nice sharp pictures, but...
Incredible morning yesterday, less than a metre away from several hundred galloping hooves - what an adrenaline rush! Really pleased with some of my shots - looking for comments and crit please :)

Thanks guys, your comments are appreciated :)
These would look awesome in a cemetery, that's something to think about!
We were using a single flash from an off camera hot-shoe flash hence the intensity, but yeah, I think that's something we could change next time.
And I hate that red...
I've been doing quite a lot of light painting recently with my Uni Photography Society, so ended up doing some experimentation under a motorway bridge this weekend - pretty pleased with the results :)
What do you guys think? Open to crit.

I literally JUST added Nico Morgan as a contact on Flickr after months of admiring his work  Co-incidence! And yes, I heard that terrible story too, so sad :(
And my later lake shots are taken slightly more to the right so don't have that annoying pole in, just happened that the first...
It's taken me a while to sort out all the shots I took on Saturday, but I've finally got all the good ones up on Flickr, phew!

365 days goes far too quickly for my liking...
I officially finished My 365 Challenge yesterday!
I started on the 1st September 2010 and thought it would make a nice record of my first year of University. I'm so pleased I did it and even though I've only got 364 pictures (gutted to have missed Day 251) I feel all accomplished :D...
