    Sorted guys I took the lens off and messed with the aperture leaver arm, lifted the mirror up while i did this, and i press the shutter button and bam, started snapping away.

    I have the 70-300 tamron vc usd di lens and its fab, its f4-f5.6, I did have the 70-300mm Nikon f4.5-f6.5 vr. but the tamron wipes the floor with it. sharper, better image quality and its also a stop lighter at top end and half a stop lighter at the bottom end which helps in certain situations...
