    Suggested lenses for Italy trip?

I'll be using XP2 as I've ended up with three rolls of the stuff so want to get rid of it and may as well use it for practicing. I'm only using B&W film as I will be using my DSLR for colour shots.

    Suggested lenses for Italy trip?

I'll be visiting Italy in the spring and will be taking my Pentax K1000, I only have 50mm and 28mm lenses and was wondering if this will be suitable for the trip? I'll be taking a mix of landscapes, architecture and people so are there any other lenses I may need? I'll be using Ilford XP2 400...

    Possibly a stupid question.

When I look through my Pentax K1000 with 55mm lens unless I am in pin sharp focus there is a rippling effect, what is it called and what causes it please? It's only in the centre of the viewfinder.

    Advice on Pentax K1000

The new camera has turned up and is in fantastic condition, it's bright and clear through the viewfinder which is in complete contrast to the first one. All works fine and dandy, hopefully I'll get out with it soon and enjoy using it.

    Advice on Pentax K1000

Whoops, I've just gone and bought another K1000! This one has just been fully refurbished and has 6 months warranty, that will ease my mind if anything goes wrong with it. I'll put the other one away and have it serviced at a later date,

    Advice on Pentax K1000

Thank you for the reply and advice. There is no window in the viewfinder just the light meter. I really like it for its simplicity and everything about it works as it should it's just the light seal inside that has gone and it needs a damn good cleaning. I'll give Miles a bell and see what's...

    Advice on Pentax K1000

Thank you for the reply. I've changed lenses but it still looks hazy and there seems to be a couple of dirt specks in the viewfinder. Could anyone please advise me on how to properly clean the cameras internals if that is at all possible? Thank you. Edit: It's buggered! The specks turn out to...

    Advice on Pentax K1000

Hi all, I've recently purchased a Pentax K1000 and am in need of a little advice. Looking through the viewfinder it looks quite hazy/milky (sorry, not sure of the correct terminology) is this normal? The centre is clear but the surrounding area that is hazy makes it hard to see if I am in focus...

    Epson V550 vs V600?

I've had a look on the Plustek website and according to their spec sheet the 8200i se works with Win 10, a bit more pricey but no more than the price of a night out so could be what I'm looking for. Thank you to you all for your help and input.

    Epson V550 vs V600?

Thank you for your reply, I think I'm edging towards getting a Plustek mainly thanks to @FujiLove for posting that link to Vuescan. Why their products don't support Win 10 naturally I don't know?
  16. S

    Epson V550 vs V600?

That's very helpful, thank you. Not supporting Win 10 was the only thing putting me off of the Plustek scanners. That's what was confusing me, there seems to be no discernible difference! I'm going to do a bit more searching but with the Vuescan download the Plustek might just be what I need...

    Epson V550 vs V600?

As I am in the market for a negative scanner I have done a bit of searching and have come across the Epson range, I only have a budget of £200 so the V550 and V600 fits nicely within that price bracket. Can any of you fine people recommend either of these over the other or is there something...

So what film camera/bit of kit have you been obsessing about today?

It's the mini wide not the mini wide II so an early version, I don't honestly know if that's good or not? Edit: I won the Vivitar too, so have ended up with two 28mm.

Anything I should know about Black&White film?

Thank you for the helpful replies, XP2 seems to be the one I'd use being able to have the film processed at normal labs. I actually like photos with a bit of grain so wouldn't be put off by that.

What to look for in a 35mm camera?

@TheBigYin My sincerest apologies, I wasn't aware of any rules being broken being new to the forum. I will duly take a step back from the offer and wait until I am able to use the classifieds. Again my apologies, I certainly wasn't trying to circumvent the rules and hope it didn't come across as...
