Weekly *sarah* TP52 2014 step and nature added

Step - For me, the back story is what makes it fit the theme (brave of you to go for something so personal!). Obviously, technically there are issues but the processing and framing works well. Nature / Natural - Moss: I think this was a good idea with the three stalks and I like the PoV. I...

Weekly *sarah* TP52 2014 step and nature added

Hi Sarah, Linked - Love the colours and I think the DoF is just right. Crit, maybe take a bit off the top of the image?

    2014 Photo52 Challenge : Week 52 : Support

I would hope most people think honest crit is a GOOD thing... However, delivery is important. This is an online forum and all we have to go on is words on a computer screen. There's no facial expression or tone of voice to help us. So when leaving negative crit, it's a good idea to try and do it...

    Weekly Nat's 52 - 2014 - I'm out

I'm going to carry on but independently and I won't be posting the photos here.

    2014 Photo52 Challenge : Week 52 : Support

Absolutely. If I did draw my own themes, I would not expect any feedback, for this very reason.

    2014 Photo52 Challenge : Week 52 : Support

I get that, but even if they were obscure, at least they would be new and would trigger a new thought process. If it's a theme I've done before, I don't only have my own but also everyone else's old entries in my head, which makes it real hard to come up with something that has not been done a...

    2014 Photo52 Challenge : Week 52 : Support

I think if there are more repeats of themes I did back in 2012 (we've had two so far already and we are only in week 10), I may draw new themes for myself. I'm not at all keen on doing re-shoots of themes I struggled with the first time around. For those of you who have been around the block a...

    Weekly Nat's 52 - 2014 - I'm out

You're not being blonde -- it is a shoehorn entry for sure, the idea being that the spider would be the end of me (figuratively speaking) because of my intense and irrational fear of it. It is quite far-fetched, I know.

    Weekly Judi's 52 in 2014 week 33 and 34 added

Hi Judi, Time - #2 for me as well, because of the egg placement and also the hourglass being more straight. Like the colour the tablecloth add to the image too.

Positive - Loving this. Sorry I can't add anything negative. :P

Weekly *sarah* TP52 2014 step and nature added

Hi Sarah, Ending - Clever idea and I like what you've done here. Positive - I agree with Andy, think it could do with a tight crop of the flower, since the background does not add to the picture. This. (y)

Weekly alsjazzera TP52 2014 WEEK 52 SUPPORT added

Hi Allan, Sorry I've not stopped by in a while... Trying to catch up! Ending - Made me chuckle. Especially reading the description! Positive - Like the lighting. Red, white and black works well. Only tiny niggle is a what looks like a few scratches on the surface the pots are standing on. Time...

    Weekly Nat's 52 - 2014 - I'm out

8/52 - Ending by C Fredriksson, on Flickr Edited to add: shoehorn entry for sure, the idea being that the spider would be the end of me (see below). I am terrified of spiders. The larger the spider, the bigger the fear. This was about 5 cm, which is by no means big, but still big enough for me...

    2014 Photo52 Challenge : Week 52 : Support

Ugh. It's not looking good for Ending... The only ideas I have are far-fetched, such as "never-ending" or things that could (at least if you are a true drama queen) "be the end of you". It might have be another post and be damned entry :(

    Weekly Nat's 52 - 2014 - I'm out

I wanted a bit of variety, plus of course it is an island, but I do agree with you. Hmmmm. Might do an edit later if I can find something that works (the format being the biggest issue here).

    Weekly Nat's 52 - 2014 - I'm out

9/52 - Positive by C Fredriksson, on Flickr I struggled to find one photo that on its own was enough to show just how much I enjoyed my recent holiday, so I tried a collage instead. For me, this is better, but it really only works for the theme if you know that I love flowers, nature in general...

    Weekly Nat's 52 - 2014 - I'm out

Back in the UK again - unfortunately! I think it was 3 degrees when we landed in Manchester last night. Ugh. I did try to look for things to fit the themes (Ending and Positive) while I was on holiday, but it's really hard when you can't camp in a certain spot for an hour to get the shot you...

    Non UK Madeira

Well - I am back. I really enjoyed the weather and the sunshine, though technically I think it is still winter over there. It was between 17 - 20 degrees during the day down in Funchal, predominantly sunny or part cloudy. Quite a lot colder at higher altitudes and much more clouds. We didn't...

    Weekly blakesters 2014 52 - Retired Gracefully

Sense - Cathedral: Sense of space, yes, absolutely. Love the composition, colours and post processing. Feet: Clever idea, and also a good take on the theme, but for me the cathedral shot has more impact and would be my choice.

Weekly Crazylady's 52 for 2014 - End and Positive added

Hello Hazel, Sense -- Cute - it made me smile, too. Also, it is different to anything else I've seen posted for this theme. Bubbles -- I really like this. The composition, contrast and the fact that it's b&w. Hang in there! :)

    Weekly Nat's 52 - 2014 - I'm out

Yup, leaves should have been removed prior to shooting (didn't notice until it was too late). I personally can't remove them in PP and make it look natural as there's too many, and they are too large. I removed the 2nd images because I wasn't looking for comparative crit -- I just wanted crit...

    Weekly Bobby Gold's 52 Weeks 2014: Week 13 - STEP added

Simon, I never doubted this was exactly how you intended it to look. The book, can you do any of the stuff in it with just a single speedlight or do most things require other (expensive) accessories?

    Weekly Bobby Gold's 52 Weeks 2014: Week 13 - STEP added

Mineral - Well. Even though it is yet another water bottle shot... I think you've managed to make the water look fresh (yeah, I'd drink that). The splashes make it interesting. For me it's a tad dark overall, but that could be personal taste.

Weekly Mandy's first 52 challenge 2014 week 52 added and all finished now

Sense - I know the WB has been mentioned already and you say you're on a calibrated monitor, but it looks off to me too. Did you take this with the built-in flash? I think the lighting really lets it down and also, there are things you could have done in PP to improve it. I appreciate that it's...

    Weekly Sonriendo's 52:2014 Thread - #9 Positive/Positivo

Sense - Good idea. I like the bright red, but feel the image is a little too bright, especially the left hand side. To me, the brightness makes the girl's face almost blend with the background. If this was your intention, my apologies.
