1905 • An Instrument for Pre-War Museum

Nobody is sulking.
Nobody cares if the floor or the walls or anything was cloned.
I for one care if someone claims there was no cloning, when there's clearly a great deal, and when the voracity of that claim is questioned by several people, the story changes to "It wasn't me".
It's as annoying as " It's SOOC guv".

If that area had been touched, don't you
think I would have removed the debris at
the left of the ©?

According to the next quote, YOU didn't do the PP anyway - which might explain the clumsy cloning (which you may well have tackled better with a different tool... but didn't.)

The PP was done by my 17 yo son late that evening.

According to the next quote…

To keep the air clean, the floor was not swept before
the shoot and only disturbing objects were removed.
As my older son was doing that, my younger one was
setting the lights as planned and I was taking care of
the warehouse mess in the BG.

After the shoot, in pp room, my younger son had to
clean up what he can and call me if any problem or difficulty

as my older son and I emptied the car.

It was, at that point, getting late and the boys were tired.
Olivier did what he could on the floor and I did the BG.

All this to produce four sets of 10 x 15 cm prints for the
next morning.

Kodiak over and out!

FFS.. just accept the image has some problems, and move on.

Indeed, why not just admit that a) YOU didn't do the PP that I questioned and b) that it was a bit clumsy.

Always best to tell the truth rather than hide behind less than truthful statements.

you are quite a one Ruth...whats going on??

An industrial client of mine, who happens to be a very
serious antiques collector and a board member of the
Schloß Karbergsbach Heritage management, asked
to have photographs of a newly acquired instrument
for the museum, a 1905 built Nemetschke piano.

The instrument was temporarily stored in a messy ware-
house
where nobody would keep such instruments so a
lot of PP was require on the BG to achieve a presentable
scene.

D3X + Profoto D1, B1, B2 + octo and strips all gridded.

on reflection i think this looks quite in order as if it was in a dark and dusty room in a castle suited to the period of the instrument or a museum or "The purpose of these photograph is to present the piano as it would look like in the salon on the third floor of the castle. The presentation light is important,"

no 3 is the most pictorial
the other 2 have that chiaroscuro feel of the middle ages

cheers

chiaroscuro feel of the middle ages

(… that would be "Renaissance" Geof!)

Yes, the very directional lighting served me well in 3 ways:
  1. it avoided light spills that could have make PP problematic
  2. they will probably light up the corner where it will be set with
some spot fixtures —diodes or other
  3. it added to the charm of the presentation
Thanks for the comment!

You don't need to pm me you could have kept that comment in thread

Nope it's just Kodiak likes to say "other comments" away from the thread so it appears he's sweetness and light..

It was in reference to my .... / comment stating it was the only comment he wanted from me and to keep it that way.

i think there is a covert operation going on here...:D

Im sure Mr K would be 'ok' if he took the I'm better than you lot stick out of his arse and admitted he needs to learn just as much as any one else, and stopped blaming his son as soon as a fault was picked up on.

if he really wants that exquisite feeling of being self buggered..fine
to me he is just as us all...just here for chat and a great get together...and some photos as well
