Also my 1st try of my new Lensmaster RH2 Gimbal. A combination of strong winds and a bucket-sized lens hood made it impossible to hand-hold my 500mm f4L - there was even a bit of movement when it was mounted on the gimbal.
I saw 6 Adders in total this morning, all in the same spots that I've seen them in previous years. As usual, they like to bask in positions that suit them, rather than the photographer! I enjoy the challenge of getting a decent shot though!

only ever came across the skin or maybe it was a died up one
that was when i was a boy soldier at otter burn
 
Very early in the year for them, but we have had some really warm days over the last week or so. Might just go and look for them at Rhosilli were I usually see them in the summer...……….

Very nice photos - good to use the long lens to minimise disturbance. I much prefer these kind of in situ shots amongst the habitat rather than ones where the animals have been moved into the open.
