Is it 'normal' for there not to be a co-pilot?
 
Typhoon is a single seat aircraft so no co-pilot, the 2-seat ones are used for training and conversion mainly. This one is doing solo work (ie no instructor needed, or is standing in for a single seater)
 
it was the pilots second solo low level flight,hence no instructor
