A-10 media day at Lakenheath.

We were invited by the USAF's media department to photograph a pair of visiting A-10 tank busters! Whilst in the area, we also visited RAF Mildenhall.

I saw those two Warthogs flying low...ish over the Snetterton area on Tuesday afternoon (14th July). I wondered what they were doing in this area as there are none of these stationed locally. Quite an imposing sight when flying low as they were.

They used to be stationed in the area - when I was growing up, you'd regularly see them on sorties, always in pairs. I miss them.

The A-10 is one of the ugliest planes, but in a good way

Maybe that's why it's called a Warthog. But its a very impressive aircraft, especially as it has THAT GUN!!

It looks like you had a good day that some would cut off their arm for. A nice set there but lot of the images look like they could use a bit of PP IMHO
