A beach and the road home

To the beach in late afternoon light, for a very conventional view.Then driving home a rainbow developed, and about a mile from home I pulled over and, surprisingly, had the right lens on the camera. Rainbows may be common, but when one is over your home patch.....

Wow, that really is a gorgeous rainbow. Hint of a double one? I'm trying to like the first but I find the distant hills just a bit too hazy and washed out, and my eyes just keep settling on the cloud reflection in the foreground.

Interesting! I like the haziness, it adds depth.
It is the cloud reflection that I don't dig…
different ways for sure!

Thanks both. Your unease about the first image is on reflection (sic) spot on - a bit more editing and I prefer this more graphic image. And yes, the rainbow was double at the right.

The composition of one is super - i love reflections mind you. Less haze and different light and that would be such a mega picture.

Thanks Steve; agree about the light (but perhaps not the haze!) - I go to this beach a lot and have pictures in many lights. But you'd probably hate my favourites....
