I had to go look that up :) , are you referring to USM with a large radius and small amount or I've also read that clarity slide in LR is supposed to add micro contrast

The term micro contrast applies only to the middle values (the guys that hold the secret
to sharpness and definition) of the tonal range and should not affect other values.
