These were captured hand-held on May Day in our garden with an FZ330 bridge camera and Raynox 150 with KX800 twin flash. All used f/8, equivalent to f/45 on full frame in terms of DoF and loss of sharpness from diffraction. The raw files were batch processed in DXO Optics Pro and Silkypix Developer Pro, with image-specific adjustments in Lightroom. There are 1300 pixel high versions in this album at Flickr.

Never seen one doing this Nick, great find as always.

Do like the complimentary background on the first few images, very nicely taken.
And good catch on the bubble.

Sharp and clear as always. Really excellent shots.

Stunning work. Love it.

Same as that, just super.

Excellent set, it must have been one hell of a party with all those balloons :D

Thank you all for your positive comments.

Graham - the odd thing is I seem to see them quite often. Not every day, but not at all unusual. Perhaps it is simply because I photograph flies so much; they are probably what I photograph most (apart from flowers).

My pick id #4 for the colours and tonal rendition…
very fine details! (y)

Excellent progression of closeness shown in first 4 ... #2 works best for me but details in all as expect are awesome :D
