Critique A few from Venice

For me 'Gondola' is streets (or should that be 'canals') ahead of the others.

It shrieks 'Venice' and makes you look more closely at it.

Just my personal opinion so please feel free to disagree....

Like the composition of the first, I suspect your lighting wasn't great for this which is a shame. In its absence I feel that conversion to mono would perhaps be better with a bit more contrast or clarity? and perhaps tweaking the colour profile?

love the second glass blower shot.

Like the chair shot but would perhaps like to see less of a vignette?

Are you talking about the Gondola image? Yeah it was a very bright but overcast day with a lot of sunshine glare coming off the water. This kind of image i always enjoy much more in mono.

I tend to have a rule that i convert a photo to mono unless the colour tells a story such as the glass blowing or the chairs if you know what i mean.

My 2 cents...I really like #1 and #2. I think #3 is nice but I IMO there is too much vignetting going on.

#4 I believe should be straightened
