A Lacewing

Managed to get these the other night, it flew in while the door was open and landed on my girlfriends hand, for some reason it wouldnt leave her and sat there for ages before flying to the light.
Anyway I hope you like them, all taken with the MPE and ringflash.

These were taken with the Canon MP-E65, the first is at 1x, the second at 4x and the last one was taken at 5x.

Love the first shot, its wings really do look like fine cotton lace.
Also like the dof in the 3rd shot, it looks like its just stepped up to peer into the lens ... coooo eeeee!!!

Love the first shot, its wings really do look like fine cotton lace.

Suprisingly thier wings are covered in fine hairs, you can just about make them out in the first shot, if I can find another I will try get a 5x of the wing.
