At The Look 2 this morning. Anthony Gormley's sculpture(?) on West Hoe Pier. It's caused a bit of a ruckus here as the council won't say what they paid for it. They did own up to paying £400k to install it which included some repair work to the pier. I got there in the dark and was surprised that that price didn't include a light.

What a monstrosity!

I find it an absolute disgrace that taxpayers' money is wasted on junk like this.

How about using the money to keep public toilets open/maintained or looking after green areas for kids to play safely in?

SWMBO was reading a bit out of the paper today that said more people are avoiding town/city centres because of the lack of toilets than due to coronavirus.

Nice rendition in the photo mind you, but yes ... priceless monstrosity.

I like the way you've taken it - the long exposure makes it far more bearable to look at, so well done.

Like the picture and also like the sculpture... I am glad there is still such a thing as public art and it will never (and should not) please all folks.
