Easy and in a jiffy!

Thanks

C1 ..is it easier to use compared with LR 3

Cheers

Just different. KQc prefers C1, while many of us like LR. These are all good tools, and it's probably worth investing around the same time as you upgrade your G1, to upgrade your image processing software too.

It is easier to use compared with LR… any version… but one
has to learn to work without gimmicks and presets… a good
chance to approach one's own creativity!

Because without bells and whistles but only the necessary
tools with for perfect RAW conversions… even difficult ones.

The flexibilities under the hood are such that it can better sup-
port the high dynamic range of my D810's better than LR can.

Students and pros have compared their renditions in LR with
my rendition of the same files in C1 with the conclusion that I
got at least the same quality (but most times better) using far
fewer sliders and achieving faster results.

The drawback for most is the absence of the bells and whistles
like vibrance, and tons of presets, etc.

Using presets is like ordering a pizza. Sure, you will eat some-
thing but you haven't learned to cook yet… and never will that
way.

With C1, you're in a pro kitchen will all the necessary tools but
one will be useless there unless one get to learn cooking.

C1 is very powerful but can be subtle using — contrary to LR's
often blamed logarithmic brutality— more accurate linear models.

Yes, I prefer it BECAUSE it is different.

Now don't get me wrong… C1 is not for everyone! Not for the
sandwich maker or the "cup'o soup" user but for the committed
image maker… the one with the fresh herbs and ingredients.

Good cooking! :)

That's more DXO Optics, which encourages use of presets from the beginning and automates a lot of the image preparation process with fewer sliders in some modes.

IIRC C1 applies quite a lot of sharpening automatically. IIRC you once said that you never applied sharpening, which puzzled a few of us at the time, but AFAIK that's what it does & that's probably why you don'd need to add more manually.

C1 applies quite a lot of sharpening automatically.

This C1 default is foreseen for Phase One/Scnneider Kreuznach
combos and may be tweaked or deactivate all together.

cant quite grasp what you chaps are talking about… what is all that about!!!...is it physics

No Goef, it is all about software and creativity
though I cannot assume of the position of Toni.

What did you mean before

Ok I give in ⚰️

I know give to, give up but not give in!

the best part of valour as we know is to know where you stand,
so i guess i do give up...semantically speaking

I've read that previously. I am inclined to believe that either software package can obtain indistinguishable results, but require the user to go through different processes to get there. In KQc's case he finds C1 saves him time, which is money to a professional like him, and he (and his clients) like the results. I could probably create an import preset for lightroom that would replicate the 'ready meal recipe' that C1 uses out of the box to get that time saving too, if it were important. What probably matters most is that we are confident and knowledgeable with the software we use and able to obtain the results that we want without fighting it too much.
