A simple shot of Culzean castle, what could i do to enhance the capture when i'm shooting it?

I'm a newbie remember.

I like it, but it lacks a bit of punch.
Try reducing the exposure when processing the image, and maybe have a play with the contrast.
Did you use a polariser?

I don't have an editing system yet but tweaked it a bit in flickr with the 2nd image.

I lke the shot, but I like castles - I don't think the light did you any favours, can't coment on how to capture that punch in camera, but can be done in PP.
