B&W A Single Tree

Thats really pleasing! I like.
From a critical fresh pair of eyes there are only two things which I'd tweak...one is the b+w mix for the field. It would be better a tad darker (just a tad mind!) to give it some separation from the sky, and because the composition is a symmetrical one, the tree needs shifting into the middle by a smudge.

Well done though!

I'm with Christo on this, a bit of seperation between grass and sky would help a lot, but I do love really contrasty b and w's, other than that, smashing....Great subject.

Simple, beautiful and superb choice of tones, but the positioning detracts slightly. I think when you have a single and obvious point of interest, it needs to be homogenous. If this were my shot, I would place the trunk in the centre, rather than the edges of foliage.
