A very distant Amazon Kingfisher.

This Kingfisher was pointed out to me by a local chap when I was on a trip to Costa Rica. It was way off and I would have missed it had it not been for the heads up.

PS nice capture of the bird with its catch. It looks more like the Kookaburra than the UK Kingfisher and isn't nature wonderful that across the globe there are the various species of the "same" bird in the same ecological niche.

Not a belted - don't think it's an amazon either.
Think it's a Ringed Kingfisher.
