Hi Affinity Users.

I am working with a friend who writes books.
He is wanting to place a photo with in the book he is using Affinity with Mac computer.
He wanted some embossed text to go over the image.
I am using PS, so i open a transparent layer, enclosing the text, saving as a PNG. and send it off to him, but when he places it over his image, it shows as a white background.

Any ideas please.

Why png and not jpg?

Using the procedure above, this allows one to place the text over an image, saving it as a jpg will show the text but with a white background.

It could have got accidentally converted to a jpeg at some step in the process? Test by opening on it's own in Affinity.
If not he could try webp image format just in case? As that has transparency too. Or possibly even a vector format like SVG?

I use PaintDotNet and save layers to my Windows pictures as .gif

They keep their transparent background shown as B&W checks.

It appears the issue has been resolved, nothing wrong with what i sent, Affinity has a link in the filter that removes the white paper look which reverts it to a png .
