This chase was initiated by the Gull as the Egret was already airborne…
Though the larger bird did a few attempts to land, the pursuer just went
on so the Egret had to take off again demonstrating its will to survive but
just to prove the Gull's higher dogfight skills.

Unfortunately, there's just nothing in focus. In this case, the moment/story is not enough to overcome the technical shortcomings.

You're right, Steven!

They were moving around (in escape mode for the Egret!)
and they were just to unpredictable changing both direction
and altitude on a dime! I was not surprised by the skills of
the Gull but I was by that of the Egret.

I think the shot (and the air acrobatics show!), though not
helping the focus issue in the image, are a cool story.
