Practice, practice, practice.. You have to decide what you want your acceptable keeper rate to be, Me, I'm happy with getting only a handful but I stick to a 60th.

This. Very much this! At least we can now shoot pretty much as many shots as we like and throw 99+% of them away without breaking the bank - not really an option in film days.
 
Only 2 & 6 have suffered,the rest look fine.

I have the same ..7D11/Sigma Contemp and find hand held not very easy at a high shutter speed let alone one for props. Some people have good technique and have no problems.

I use this. Slide the lens back on the plate and secure and you're almost vertical.
