Not had an interest in food photography as a technique, so had some ideas about an alternative take on the theme. Then the fabulous colours in the venison stew captured me, and let the i-phone take the strain. Apart from a slight crop, straight from the camera. Impressed with the result.
 
Very colourful image there and the iPhone image is nice and crisp.

Those colours are great. Nothing wrong with using a phone - especially when it allows composition this strong.
 
I bet that ball doesn't get retrieved! Nice shot - but not for whoever landed it there :)
 
Nice one, like the shadow and the bumpy ice and as others have said the ball makes it- another example how something that takes up only 0.x % of the picture can make. a difference
 
The colours in your food shot are fantastic, the ball abolsutely makes your 'cold' shot - I really like the shadow on the ice too
 
Great shot Alan, and the ball on the ice is perfect!

You could almost have cropped off the top of the image and just left a bit of the grass as a border along the top and made the ball and the reflection the subject of the image....it would make for a really interesting minimalist shot.
