Allan.H 52 2025 WEEK 11 ANIMAL

I think that you should do a "windows to my soul" project Allan, you already have three in the bag... :D

I love the lighting on your snappers choice and your morning light pic could also fit the recent through a window and silhouette categories !

I have never seen it, I'm aware of it isn't it originally a Japanese film.
Every ghost story film will have the shadowy figure in the window/mirror scene, it's not based on anything in particular.
nothing that came to mind.

Thank you
I don't know if it was Japanese originally. i was thinking of the 2002 film (Dreamworks).
The character I was thinking of was Samara. Long black hair, White robe/dress.

Apparently it was a Japanese film released in 1998 called Ring adapted from a Japanese novel.
I have just looked it up.

I like this. Really interesting directional signage. Is there a story behind the unusual shape?

Great sign and assuming its pointing towards a business also a great idea, can't miss it and gets interest in the business/destination

These are apparently all over the country the only information I can find is this

The Millennium Mileposts are cast-iron sculptures that help people navigate the National Cycle Network.

You’ll find four different milepost designs in both rural and urban locations on routes all across the UK.
We commissioned four artists from the four countries of the United Kingdom to design these artworks.
Unveiled in the year 2000, they are a celebration of the freedom and diversity of the National Cycle Network.
Over 1,000 Millennium Mileposts were installed, stretching to all corners of the UK, some as far north as the Shetland Islands.
You’ll find them at scenic spots on the Network, such as coastal paths and nature reserves.
They can also be found at train stations and other key locations where the Network runs through villages, towns and cities.

A great sign, much better than the normal run of the mill.

This is on the border between Wales and England on what is part of the National cycle network.

Cool story, thanks for sharing!

I love those posts - there aree a bunch on the cycle paths around Bristol as well which I have a few shots of knocking around. Yours is much more colourful than the ones I saw - it makes a great subject.

They are usually painted black but on this route there are a few that have been painted.
Thanks for looking in.

Lots of horizontals to choose from there Allan, good one.

Landcapes for horizontal run the risk of being very flat with no lead-in. But you've got those subtle diagonals that really help :)

Yes, lots of horizontals going on there. Normally not a fan of something like the road barrier being in the foreground as it can act as a stop but it just adds to the theme. Well shot.
