A rare opportunity to get a close-up of one of the beautiful Amur Leopards at YWP. A pair are there on a conservation and breeding programme, as they are critically endangered in the wild:

Absolutely stunning Russ and beautifully captured.
If they do breed you won't be disappointed, the cubs are the cutest of the big cats in my opinion.
All being well I'm finally going to see the whipsnade tiger cubs later this week

- most times when I visit YWP, the leopards are far distant or sit on a platform obscuring their face - but this time I had my long "birding lens" on the camera, and the leopard was close and at eye level. Magic!

Lovely capture, a very shy cat. I usually see it up close as it patrols the glass or it's up high facing away.

- That's usually my normal situation Foggy, but on this one occasion it posed on a low platform just at my eye level - and I had the right lens for a change
