I have seen this small blue flower quite a few times at this time of year and wondered what it was. Sorry for the poor shot but my point and press I carry with me will not do close up focus.

It is, there are lots of sub species - generally best not to try guess which one.
The flowers on these are quite big they might have garden origins.

Thanks everyone. The flowers are about 1 cm across and there are quite a few clumps of them about. I see them at this location (Highgate common).
