Good set Russ, one of the most stylish birds to see IMO :)
Just checking out the eggs in #1 and they appear completely different colour to those in my nest photo ... wonder why, different environment?

I see your point about the egg colour, but can't explain why. What I have noted is that the parents do not take care of the eggs in these shallow scrape nests - often the eggs roll away from these scrapes, and the parents never seem concerned enough to try to retrieve them. Then the Black Headed Gulls descend.....
