B52 Departing from Fairford

Great captures - liking number 1, really shows the size of the thing...
 
I need to get up there!
I bet that made a heck of a noise. :cool:
Is it always pretty busy up there or are there days where not much goes on?

3 B52s we due to depart on Sunday but only 2 got off the ground, one went tech and left on Monday, and yes they do make one hell of a rumble.

Fairford is not in full time operation these days and only get the occasional visitors, We did have Airforce One in last year and a couple of U2s and B2s a few months ago.

The B2s were there a couple of weeks ago.
They flew directly over our house and by pure fortune I had the Sigma 50-500 mounted so I ran out to the back garden and rattled some shots off.
Technically they weren't great but I still got one printed in The Wiltshire Times! :D
