ok hopfully i have taken on board the constuctive commets and came up with this, i would have like another uplight (didnt have one) and i dont like black back grounds (unless im doing moody)

 
Not sure if its just my eyes/monitor but you seem to have a little light spill from the back ground.

I am yet to try a white background, found black / grey a lot easier :)
 
You don't need studio lights to do babys portraits position the baby in front of a window and use a blanket as your background and use a shallow dof and focus on the eyes it's a much more flattering light
