Having put a lot of effort into finishing my backlog, I needed a bit of a rest from matters photographic. Today I went out to a local nature reserve for the first time this year. There wasn't much around, but there were some flies. These were captured with a Raynox 150 on an FZ330 bridge camera with KX800 twin flash. Processing was in DXO Optics Pro, Silkypix Developer Pro and Lightroom. There are 1300 pixel high versions in this album at Flickr.

I love the texture of your images and i think you should tell me how you do it ... :) Stunning.

Thanks. For images like these, which use flash, I think the major influence on the look of the textures is the flash setup. My setup is illustrated in this post in the Show us you macro rig thread. (I see it needs updating. I'm now using a Panasonic G80 with 45-175 instead of the Canon 70D with 55-250 for most natural light shots, particularly botanical work. I'm still using the FZ330 for most flash work).

Excellent set, l was using the raynox 150 the other day on the fz1000 and got thinking l don't use it nearly enough.

SUPER DETAILED SHOTS NICK! Looking forward to seeing more from you(y):clap::clap::clap::clap:

Awesome Nick and you really show of the gold tones on the hovers... though bit difficult think it needs more shine like they really do its lost the metallic effect. Particular seen on #1/7

#5 I think is the right balance :D

Love all the Hover shots (y) and the detail in #2 is superb.

Clive.

Great detail and sharpness to all the images as usual Nick, top work.

Thanks Neil, Charles, Bryn and Clive for the very positive comments. Bryn,is the one in #7 a different species, one that is less shiny perhaps?
