After fluffing my first outdoor family shoot, i'm going back to basics

This was done with a reflector to the right and and a big window left, the BG was blown a bit more than I wanted. I am dragging the kids out this weekend to find some locations and get a bit more practice in shooting outdoors

I like that Alan, maybe the eyes could be just a bit lower in the frame and possibley brighten a bit more to remove the hair a bit more.

I had a play and came up with this, will remove if required.

Sorry Alan, but it's a very awkward expression and her eyes look odd.

Great eyes, but watch your backgrounds. You have some funky stuff going on with the outlines around the heads and in the blown areas.

Nicely taken, but they're a bit close for me unless they're part of a series of closeups for a project or something. The effect is exacerbated by the 50mm lens. Again, if deliberate then that's fine, but it's not the most flattering focal length for this kind of work.
