Banded Demoiselle Ovipositing

Certainly not my best quality picture but the subject matter is quite interesting. Even with a 70-300mm lens I was a long way from the subject, so was pleased to get anything at all. This female Banded Demoiselle is clearly laying her eggs on the leaf. There is a small trail of yellow/green eggs behind her.

Very lucky to have seen this, as it is something that I have certainly never witnessed before.

Well done getting the shot. Seeing and managing to capture something one has never seen before is great. I think this is one of those occasions where interest value trumps image quality.
