Hiya all, was just wondering if anybody had any experience in photographing bats in flight? I have a couple that fly around my garden at dusk but boy do these things shift.
Got a few shots trying different techniques but nothing really pin sharp.
Any tips or advice welcome.

A big torch with a cutout over the end? :D

Cheers for the links, makes interesting reading, I am thinking of setting up a studio flash head in the garden with the modeling light on to attract the insects which in turn should attract the bats. the studio flash coupled with on camera flash should give enough light to stop down to a reasonable f stop.

Go to Australia... they're a lot bigger & dead easy to spot... & there's loads of them...

Took this & many others with my A85 at 400iso at dusk in Port Douglas... boy do they make a racket. (technically speaking I think they're flying foxes but there's various arguements I heard to this... to me they're bats)
