Exactly my thoughts.

A smile or a more intriguing expression rather than the slightly disinterested look would really elevate this pic.

A good friend of ours has a daughter with similarly stunning eyes - one of my fave people to take pics of for this reason.

So having got the technicalities of the photo right you have to somehow coax an expression out of the model....can be tricky!!

So having got the technicalities of the photo right you have to somehow coax an expression out of the model....can be tricky!!

The hardest part, I reckon, and the main reason my best posed stuff is all of folk who are used to being in front of the camera.

The technical stuff can be learned in a fairly methodical fashion. Techniques for provoking expressions can be learnt too but employing them while keeping all the tech stuff under control in the background takes practice.
