I've been back and forth with bee flies today. Got a decent in flight shot, now just need to get some with a clean background.

Great captures... hope to see a bee fly not sure they are inhabitants around my area though.

I decided to look before posting and like me you may see a Dark Edged Bee Fly Bryn as they seem to be quite widespread. It amazes me I see anything at all based on the maps in insect books.
 
Thats a very cool 3rd shot (gif) and not a easy thing to do is get one with a clean bg.
here as I can see a couple of hundred in a day (2 hr slot) with so many opportunities for a great shot.
