On a walk, I managed to take a shot of a bee taking pollen from a lavender flower. Ive only just come across this recently so just gave it a quick tweak. Im not one for flowers and insects but I like this shot. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve this or hints on how to start taking flower photos it would be appreciated.

Im not really sure where the focal point of this photo is and is most likely a lucky shot...

You've got some nice colours there...
For insects I personally think you will need a macro lens.
For flowers though, in this case I would position a lavender on the side of my frame while the rest are in the background creating a nice bokeh.
These are just my personal suggestions though. :)

For me the shot is a nice attempt. The lavender is a lovely colour and the bokeh works well. What I would probably change, but this is dependant on the bee playing ball, would be to wait for it to go the tops of the lavender so that it's in shot with a clean background.

Looking forward to seeing more like it.
