I have an Olympus E-PL8 & a Nikon D610. Pretty much used them as point & shoot cameras.

What works be a good/easyish PP program to start with to improve/boost my pics ?

Thanks all.

Looking through a few previous posts the same ones seem to get mentioned quite a lot. I will try the free ones first then see if I can get free trials for the premium ones.

You could try "GIMP" its free and quite a comprehensive suite and has plenty of on board tutorials

Here: https://www.gimp.org/

I used this before subscribing to Photoshop CC 2020

Well, you could try Nikon's Capture NX-D, which is a free download from the Nikon web site. It's not the easiest piece of software to learn but it can give excellent results. I'm not sure how it would handle your Olympus images though.

Whichever software you decide to use, shoot in raw rather than jpg as it gives you more leaway in the editing process.

You can get Affinity Photo for £24, under half price, until 20 June:

https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo

It's an excellent image editor, comparable to Photoshop in many respects.

For image previewing and selection, raw processing, and global adjustment of the Nikon images only, I would suggest either Capture NX-D, as above:

https://nikonimglib.com/ncnxd/

or Capture One Express for Nikon:

https://www.captureone.com/en/products-plans/capture-one-express

Both are free. Olympus have their own raw processor, which I haven't used:
