Took this at Biddulph Grange Gardens. Fuji XT10 - 55-200mm f1600

I feel that plants with these small flower heads.........Im guessing this is heather or similar......does not work so well with shallow depth of field. Although there is a central band that is in focus, as the flower heads are small it tends to look like the whole image is out of focus. For me this would work much better shot at higher aperture to give focus from front to back of the image.
 
Thanks for the reply. My thinking was to show that depth of the heather by showing the different focus. I wanted the 3d look by focusing on the middle to show out of focus before and after the focus point. I will be going back soon so will do a much higher aperture to get it all in focus and see how it come out.
