I'm not really a big fan of photographing zoo animals but I was dragged along and had a camera with me also a longish lens.

Over processed and too tight in the frame for me and why mono?

I'll agree with the ear problem but I rather like the almost scratch-foil effect that the processing has given this shot.

I think the crop was done for impact , Not keen on the over processing , What happened to the eye detail ?

I quite like mono - but the processing on this one is not great I'm afraid. Can see where you've tried to clone / darken the background unsuccessfully round the lions fur and it is well over sharpened.
