Well, when we moved to Wiltshire from London I was really looking forward to getting something different in the garden, but I never envisaged this.....

They've been back a couple of times and are happily sitting under the feeder at the moment...

Goldfinch in the garden this afternoon.

The Mallards now seem to be semi-resident, turning up at around 7am, and hanging around until early evening. We don't have a pond, so the blue bowl was put there there as a source of fresh water, which they seem to enjoy, as well as the seed in the ground feeders.

Weirdest thing ever, we were in the lounge when my wife said there was a little bird hopping around on the greenery outside the window, she thought it was a wren. I went to have a look and to my astonishment saw it was a goldcrest. We've never seen one round here before, all I could use to get a shot was my phone so it's a pretty poor image.

After about 30 seconds it tried to get in through the window and then flew off!

Edit: I've been told it's a firecrest!
