Finally managed to get some shots of a Black-necked Grebe. Just need to get some decent light.

- you had more success at St Aidans than I did - they were just distant black dots when I visited!

After spending a couple of hours on them yesterday, if I'd have come away with these, I'd have been very happy kevin, great low pov

........reeds in the way, harsh back lighting, ar*e disappearing under water, they were a right PITA!

They did show well though, too close at times as we couldn't get them over the reeds and they never swam into a gap.

Going to try again tomorrow morning with the sun behind me, hopefully they'll be a little more obliging
