a super shot and pose spoiled by the foreground reed .

Pretty bird in its environment, nice to see it with the insect. :)

Nice Bird, Ruud

would benefit from just a little processing - a one minute job

did you take this in The Netherlands?

never seen one of these before - it's name certainly fits!

I don't think they get to the UK, (scarce migrant) - but they are Flycatchers that migrate up from N Africa ........... looks like they come up the West coast of France as they prefer marshy land and similar

Clearly a male, but it looks to have been taken on a dull day

yes in the Netherlands quite common in spring and summer
spoiled by the foreground indead
thanks for the processing good improvement

A very good record, and has said above nice to see feeding.
The bird looks a bit skinny/battered or maybe just wet so it's not very flattering for him.
We have one at the moment in Orkney, there pretty rare to see up here and i haven't had the chance yet! Well done to catch the glimpse of one!

IMO the shot is not spoiled by the foreground at all. I’m all for nature shots in their environment, whether that environment is behind and/or in front. It adds interest and context and diverts from a simple bird on a stick! Good shot.
