Hi Jeff, not sure your prefered conversion is bringing out the best in the timbers here, looks like you had interesting strong light on the outing, going off the reflection being cast from the rudder, also not sure the grainy look within the sky helps the subject in this instance too, IMO to much of an distraction, slight crop just above the bank LHS draws the eye much better, again IMO. Thank you for sharing.

Quite difficult to get tonal separation between the grass and the wood of the boat, so you have to work on the textures. I feel there is further to go.

I like the image but it does need work to make the boat stand out from the grass.

Yeah, the focus here almost appears to be directed more at the bed of grass around and below the boat rather than the boat itself.

On saying that, it definitely has potential to be a really nice image.
