WEEK (01) - FOOD

So it is Monday morning 6th January and the Kings (The three Wise Men) arrived last night. This morning is akin to Christmas morning with presents and all that. People traditionally eat "Xurros" with chocolate sauce for breakfast (basically a kind of long doughnut). Anyways, here's a quick phonegrab of the nearest "Xurreria" once the queue had gone down for my take on this week's theme. Edited and cropped a bit in Photoscape.

Nice pic and story. I guess ‘churros’ is the anglicised spelling. I always thought they got dipped in hot chocolate (drink) so good to know the proper form.

Cheers! "Xurros" is the Catalan spelling, and "churros" is Spanish. Yes, or chocolate sauce or dipped into a cup of thick chocolate!!

Hoping to get a work trip to Barcelona this year so will give them a go !

Great story. Off to Barcelona in the spring, so will look out for these.

Thanks for info on the tradition, so this was after the queue had gone down.

Good take for the theme, I went to Barcelona about 10 years ago and don't remember seeing any of these shops,
which was probably a good thing as I would have eaten my bodyweight of them.

Nice one Bob, I like the toning, it suits it well

I like your take on the theme Bob and the processing works nicely. It's always interesting to find out the back story.

They must be tasty if that is the queue having gone down. Interesting take on the theme.

Thanks to all for stopping by. They are definitely tasty and it's more or less a traditional thing a bit like mince pies and Christmas pud, but I hate queues so not for me, and don't forget the 'traditional' resolutions of eating properly and more visits to the gym ........

Ha! That is certainly a different take on the theme! Nice concept, good execution and presentation.

One of the disadvantages of not being in the UK during winter, hope you don't want any sympathy :)
Good idea, maybe a bit of condensation on the can would enhance the cold theme - IIRC you posted a good one last year with condensation on the glass/bottle?

Yep - clever take on it :)

Thanks!! Opinions appreciated.

Very neat idea Bob!

Cheers Simon!

Yes, I was waiting for condensation, but despite the sunshine it was coolish and I was thirsty.!!

Heh. I guess some seasonal themes can be a bit of an issue as you're not UK based.

The problems of expat life ....
Thanks

Cheers!!

Love the light and contrasts in your cold shot!!

Yes, I did some twiddling until I was happy, but I'd be hard pressed to say what I actually did. I blame the beers.

To you!! Cheers!!

Not jealous of your weather at all lol

That image works for me

Thanks Adam!

I don't see what else you could have done other than crack open a beer :)

Nicely done Bob.

My thoughts exactly but it was "some" beers.
Hahaha. Thanks
