I've had the colour version of this sat on my drive since mid-September, but not really known how I wanted it to look. That all became obvious after I'd finished working on the New Years Eve Party images I've also posted here.
The sky was very bright in places, and over the time I shot variations of this scene the foreground went from being well lit to shadow, and for the colour version to work it really needed that nice warm low-angled light. However tonally the scene was still interesting, and although this is anything but a straight image, it feels like it has some classic qualities, at least to me.
