Off to Bristol for the weekend and weather is looking decent. Any recommendations for nice sunrise/sunset locations? Will be staying in city centre but don't mind a walk. The Observatory at Clifton is about a 40 minute walk and looks a reasonable spot for photographing the suspension bridge from, although the nicer images I've seen appear to be taken from the other side of the river, at sunset, and possibly from a walkway off Rownham Hill, according to Google maps... Might be a bit dodgy though.

Grateful for any pointers!

The classic view you're referring to can be reached by walking from the center down Hotwell Road, then continuing along the waterfront around Cumberland basin. The viewpoint is in a little park by the underpass (if you search for Brunel Way Pump Track it's pretty much next to that). You could then either cross back towards Hotwells and walk up into Clifton for the observatory shot, or walk back along Cumberland basin on the other side towards M Shed, where there are some interesting boats and Dock cranes.

Additionally in the center you have good access to St Nicks Market which is a cool street location, and has great food.

Enjoy :)

Excellent - that's really helpful, thanks.
