Still getting to grips with the 'beastie' lens (canon 200-400) on a monopod, (undecided if I should sell or not yet) so decided to give the Bikes a go from the normal side of the fence, loved the way even panning 'through' the mesh was possible and in most cases pretty acceptable. See what you guys n girls think.

Nice to say hello on Saturday David and put a face to the name. These are impressively sharp in my opinion and a good advert for the lens if you decide to sell. The first two are my favourites, colours and composition (y). Looking at your website, the camera /lens combo certainly seems to nail the focus consistently.
Comments for #10 made me chuckle.
Neil.

Hey Neil,
Had a pretty good day all in all so have removed the ad for now - the monopod with the belt attachment worked really well but I need to find a more comfortable solution as holding it like that for 8 hours plus is going to be hell.

Thank you for your comments, they help to alleviate the doubts a bit, just got to stop whining and find a set up that works ;-) Until the next time

Oh and just checked your flickr feed - awesome mate - as for the monster girls. . . . . and breathe

I am sure we must brushed shoulders looking at your shots. Did you have a gimbal head on the monopod tucked into a pouch thingy. If you are going to sell let me know as the pictures do the lens justice also interested to know the gimbal head you had on,

#2 sharp as can be and a great shot
#4 wow love this
#5 what a star!! and very good through the fence.
#7 Cheeky, also spotted at the top of Druids but not the nerve to take a picture.
#10 Inside of Druids with a great panning action, cute as well.

Thank you guys,

Mike - short and to the point as always, thank you.

Gaz - good to finally say hi, and how burnt did your head get? I couldn't have lasted more than 10 minutes without the hat.

Martin - Thank you kind sir, yep, I was that weirdo with the belt pouch for the mono pod, it worked surprisingly well just need to 'tweak' the comfort a bit now. I did have the lens up in the sale section for 7500 but have decided to give it another go after Saturday's success although I may be persuaded otherwise.
As for the head on the monopod - I tried countless ball heads and nothing at all but just couldn't get the 'feel' I was after, bumped into a guy from another forum a month or so ago who let me try his ProMedia head and I had to have one NOT the cheapest by a long shot but the build quality is unreal and will more than likely outlast all my kit, got it from Peter HERE may be one of the only UK importers, I also got the PX6 foot for the lens itself. I mounted it direct to the monopod (no ball head) and turned the lens foot 90 degrees so I had up and down tilt, the ball race is so smooth it's effortless.

WARNING: If you play the video on the link above for the head turn the sound off - Mr Charisma will have you swinging from the rafters within the first 20 seconds lol.

It did look like a nice piece of kit as did the lens but out of my budget this year, you were next to me at Stirlings and at the exit of Surtees I believe. I had to struggle with a 70-200 and x2 converter which did an ok job but is heavy for all day on a MKiv.

Great set. 2, 4, and 6 for me. Not to mention 7 of course  and it's got nothing to do with the hair style!
