thank you so much...most of what i think are butterflies could be moths
the white one..cabbage variety...is that a moth??
i was using my kit lens 24-45 on a 4/3 sensor at as close as i could go to get the b/f...and rocking on the balls of my feet to get the focus...large f high speed..100 iso..let me check..yes 5.6 at 1/800
maybe i should be thinking of a macro attachment as i love these inner space activity shots

There are many varieties of butterflies and moths, some butterflies look like moths but are butterflies, small ones too, look at the skipper butterflies, they are small, easily mistaken as a moth (look on my flickr) . if you decide to try macro, do have fun.
